CHURCH ADVOCATE

 

Job Description

 

The Church Advocate should be someone who has a passion for missions and agrees to promote Mission EXPO within their church.  The Advocate is invited to join the Mission EXPO planning team and attend the monthly planning meetings.

 

1.  Gather prayer support for missions in general and Mission EXPO.

            ●  ask for prayer in church services, Sunday School classes and Bible Study groups

            ●  form a missions prayer group

            ●  distribute prayer updates (handouts or e-mails) found on website

 

2.  Make people aware of Mission EXPO dates:

            ●  ask church leaders to keep EXPO dates open so people may attend

            ●  ask for dates to be included in church bulletins, etc.

 

3.  Coordinate transportation to the conference (or recruit a Transportation Coordinator)

            ●  recruit drivers

            ●  fill out sign up sheets

 

4.  Assist in recruiting volunteers for Mission Expo conference:

●  advertise & distribute list of opportunities for volunteers to serve at Mission Expo

●  ask leaders for names of people who may be able to serve.

●  suggestion:  enlist assistants to recruit Mission Expo volunteers.

 

5.      Distribute information (Posters, Bulletin Inserts, Power Point Slides) to the church.

 

            6.  Consider attending monthly planning meetings.

 

7.  Stay positive – don’t be critical of the church if immediate interest is not evident.

 

            8.  Consider serving as host/hostess in at lease one seminar during the conference

                        (You will be able to supply feedback for future planning)
